
What is whole body donation?
Whole body donation to Ke Ola ‘Uhane is for Non-Transplant Anatomical Donation made under the Hawaii Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. Typically, donation authorization is completed prior to death on behalf of the individual however, next of kin may also make an anatomical donation following death. At the time of death, the decedents remains are received by Ke Ola 'Uhane for educational and research purposes. The donation typically lasts 3 to 12 months if the remains are embalmed. In all cases the final disposition of donors remains is cremation.
